Vintage Antique Micro Seed Beads size 18/o Mocha Swirl
Description
These fabulously old micro beads were manufactured some time between the late 1800's and the 1940's. They're a (tiny!) size 18/o seed bead, which allows for incredible detail & resolution.
There are about about 30-35 beads per inch when strung, and the bag weighs approximately 3 grams.
There's some nice variation in color here, which is wonderful for shading. It's a sweet mix of opaque hues of soft brown ranging from americano to mocha to hazelnut latte (why yes, I *do* live in Seattle -- why do you ask? ;o)
The close up pic makes these beads look "chalky" or powdery, but that's not visible without extreme magnification.
♥ Suggested uses for these precious old beads include: beadweaving, bead embroidery, antique purse restoration, fiber art, mixed media collage, doll house & miniature work and collecting.
♥ ♥ These pictures have been magnified to give a good sense of color and shape. Any dust or debris in the photos are generally *tiny* specks not visible to the naked eye.
The coin isn't included - it's just there to give a sense of scale.
