12 Vintage Glass Faceted Stones - 18 x 25 mm Peridot

Description

This is a lot of twelve (12) faceted glass cabochons, in transparent peridot green. They have flat gold foiled backs, and measure 18 x 25 mm each (see last photo for size reference).

They were manufactured in West Germany from the 1950's - 1970's for the costume jewelry trade. The colors mimicked gemstones, and often have quirky names like "saphyr" or "topas" (no really, I'm not a terrible speller! ;o)

These fire polished stones show typical wear for glass of this age (some foil flaking or minor nicks around the edges) but it doesn't detract from their beauty or elegance. They are excellent for mounting, gluing, wrapping and whatever else your imagination can stir up!
