12 Vintage West German Glass Stones or Cabochons - 10 x 12 Saphyr AB

Description

This is a lot of twelve (12) glass cabochons in transparent "Saphyr AB", which is a transparent sapphire blue with a flashy aurora borealis finish over the top. They were manufactured in West Germany from the 1950's - 1970's for the costume jewelry trade. These stones have flat gold foiled backs, and measure 10 x 12 mm each. The first pictures show the color in different lighting conditions, the third picture shows the style and the last picture helps with sizing.

The vintage stones show typical wear for glass of this age but it doesn't detract from their beauty or elegance. They are excellent for mounting, gluing, wrapping and whatever else your imagination can stir up!
