Vintage Antique Micro Seed Beads size 18/o OPQ Red Poppy
Description
These fabulously old micro beads were manufactured some time between the late 1800's and the 1940's. They're a (tiny!) size 18/o seed bead, which allows for incredible detail & resolution.
These are a size 18/o cylinder/2-cut bead, with approximately 18 beads per inch when strung. They have less beads per inch than most of the other 18/o beads that I carry, but they're consistent with the others in terms of diameter. The hank has 3 loops measuring approximately 5 & 1/2 inches long when strung or 11" when untied, and weighs approximately 3 grams.
The threads on these old hanks are very fragile, and you may receive some broken strands/loose beads in the baggie.
The color is a bright opaque orangey-red ~ almost the exact color of a poppy :o)
♥ Suggested uses for these precious old beads include: beadweaving, bead embroidery, antique purse restoration, fiber art, mixed media collage, doll house & miniature work and collecting.
♥ ♥ These pictures have been magnified to give a good sense of color and shape. Any dust or debris in the photos are generally *tiny* specks not visible to the naked eye.
The coin isn't included - it's just there to give a sense of scale.
