12 Vintage West German Faceted Glass Stones or Cabochons - 10 x 14 mm Smokey Grey
Description
This is a lot of twelve (12) faceted glass cabochons in transparent "Smoky Grey", which is a soft transparent grey. These stones have flat gold foiled backs, and measure 10 x 14 mm each. They were manufactured in West Germany from the 1950's - 1970's for the costume jewelry trade; they were meant to resemble gemstones, which is evidenced by quirky color names like "saphyr" and "topas".
These fire polished stones show typical wear for glass of this age (some may have foil flaking or minor nicks around the edges) but it doesn't detract from their beauty or elegance. They are excellent for mounting, gluing, wrapping and whatever else your imagination can stir up!
♥ Please note ~ these are flat backed stones. They are not beads, and do not have holes.
